Buchi Okereke
North
Buchi Okereke, DPT, has a passion for helping individuals of all ages regain functional abilities and performance and educating patients on ways to prevent injuries – especially spinal injuries – with an emphasis on ergonomics.
He possesses a variety of skill sets, including clinical application of Graston Technique and soft tissue mobilization, dry needling, management of spinal pathologies using the McKenzie Method, strengthening using Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) and more.
Prior to joining OrthoTennessee in 2021, he served as a senior physical therapist in Nigeria. Buchi earned a bachelor’s degree in medical rehabilitation with a major in physical therapy from the University of Nigeria, master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in biomechanics from University of Tennessee and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
Buchi also is passionate about advancing the field of physical therapy by participating in related research with the long-term goal of becoming a strong advocate for evidence-based practice.
Buchi is active in community service, including serving at high school athletic events. He enjoys hiking, traveling, working out, reading and working on cars and loves spending quality time with his family.
