OrthoTennessee selects Pete Pearson as chief executive officer
OrthoTennessee, East Tennessee’s largest provider of orthopaedic care and services, has selected Pierce D. “Pete” Pearson, as chief executive officer.
OrthoTennessee provides a single point of access for all orthopaedic care including physician visits and assessment, treatment and surgical options, imaging, physical therapy and more at multiple regional offices, including Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic, University Orthopaedic Surgeons, OrthoTennessee Maryville and OrthoTennessee Oak Ridge. OrthoTennessee physicians are the majority owners and manage two orthopaedic-only surgery centers: KOSC and UOSC.
“Pete was unanimously chosen by the OrthoTennessee board of directors based on his extensive and proven leadership experience and invaluable institutional knowledge,” said Dr. John J. Crawford, chair of the OrthoTennessee board of directors. “I send a hearty congratulations to Pete as he positions our strong organization for the future. I also want to thank Dr. Robert Ivy for investing so much in leading the thorough CEO search.”
Pearson joined OrthoTennessee as chief operating officer in 2017 and added the role of chief financial officer in 2022. Prior to joining OrthoTennessee, Pete served as consulting principal at Pershing Yoakley & Associates P.C. He also served as an officer in the United States Army.

Pearson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mercer University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Tennessee. He is a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA).
He is involved in the community as a member of the Pellissippi State Community College Administrative Professional Technology Advisory Board, member of the MBA program advisory board for the UT Haslam College of Business and a tnAchieves mentor.
